Procedures in the Laboratory
We recommend storing 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one at -20°C for long-term storage. It should remain stable for a minimum of two years.
The white crystalline substance 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one is supplied. 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl) Propan-1-one is soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and dichloromethane (DCM), which should be purged with an inert gas before to use. 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one dissolves at approximately 22 mg/ml in ethanol and DMF and at approximately 15 mg/ml in DMSO.
Prior to doing tests, further dilutions of the stock solution into aqueous buffers or isotonic saline should be made. Ascertain that there is no leftover organic solvent, as organic solvents may have physiological consequences at low concentrations. Aqueous organic solvent-free solutions The crystalline solid 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one can be produced immediately in aqueous buffers. 2-methyl-1-phenyl-3-(piperidin-1-yl)propan-1-one dissolves at a solubility of approximately 11 mg/ml in PBS, pH 6.4. We do not recommend keeping the aqueous solution in the refrigerator for more than one day.
